Meet Dr Heidi Hand

Experienced Clinical Psychologist providing compassionate, evidence-based care

I started my psychology service in April 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then my practice has grown, and I now work exclusively in private practice, providing specialist psychology services and personalised online therapy.

It is important to me to offer therapy that is flexible, collaborative and tailored to each individual, while drawing upon the latest psychological research and evidence-based approaches. I enjoy working alongside people to develop personalised and holistic treatment plans that help them achieve meaningful and lasting change.

I am fascinated by the mind-body connection and work with you to identify all the factors that are impacting your wellbeing. We then work on them together to reduce distress and build the life you want.

My experience

I have over 20 years' experience working across a wide range of NHS and private services. My career has included outpatient and inpatient mental health settings, specialist eating disorder services and neurorehabilitation, all of which have strengthened my understanding of the relationship between psychological wellbeing and physical health.

I have a specialist interest in EMDR and am an accredited practitioner with EMDR-UK.

Alongside providing therapy, I have held senior management and leadership positions, developing and improving psychological services. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation of what people value most from therapy: expertise, compassion, flexibility and feeling genuinely understood.

I have used these experiences to create a private practice that combines high clinical standards with a warm, collaborative and personalised approach.

I’m a Clinical Psychologist but not really ‘clinical’ and I don’t just speak from a book. I’ve read my fair share of books and have knowledge to offer but ultimately I’m a human, there with you, when you need it most.
