Mind & Body
Health Psychology
I have a specialist interest in the relationship between physical health and emotional wellbeing, supporting people whose symptoms may not always be fully explained by medical investigations but are nonetheless very real and often life-changing.
Living with persistent physical symptoms can be exhausting, frustrating and isolating. Many people experience uncertainty while searching for answers, alongside the emotional impact that chronic symptoms can have on work, relationships and everyday life.
I can support people experiencing:
- Persistent physical symptoms
- Medically unexplained symptoms
- Chronic pain
- Persistent fatigue
- Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
- Non-epileptic seizures (NES)
- Adjustment to long-term health conditions
- Health-related anxiety and distress

Understanding the mind-body connection
Physical symptoms and emotional wellbeing are closely connected. Living with ongoing symptoms can understandably affect mood, confidence, relationships and quality of life, while stress and trauma can also influence how the nervous system responds.
Therapy provides a safe and collaborative space to better understand these connections, helping you develop practical strategies to manage symptoms, reduce distress and regain confidence in daily life, which may also in turn positively impact your symptoms.
How I can help
- Develop a greater understanding of your symptoms, the aspects contributing to them and in some cases alleviate symptoms
- Reduce the emotional impact and stress responses related to a misunderstood or chronic illness
- Improve confidence and day-to-day functioning
- Build practical coping strategies
- Support adjustment and navigating life after diagnosis
- Work alongside your wider healthcare team where appropriate
A compassionate, evidence-based approach
Every person's experience is different. My approach is tailored to your individual circumstances, combining evidence-based psychological therapies with a compassionate understanding of the complex relationship between the body, emotional wellbeing and recovery.
